Nitrogen plays an important role in agriculture. As a growth multiplier, fertiliser N is used to increase the yield of pasture and crops, helping to fill the feed gaps that invariably arise during the year. Used strategically and tactically, fertiliser N is an effective adjunct to the biologically fixed N provided by clovers and other legumes.
- A concentrated source of nitrogen (N) is used to improve pasture and crops yields.
- Nitrogen (N) provides an important role in protein synthesis in plants and animals.
- Nrich urea has hard, even-sized granules making it easy to handle and spread.
The optimum timing for fertiliser N applications is August through to May when soil temperatures are above 7 degrees. Urea should only be applied when there is a high degree of certainty that a minimum of 5-10 mm of rain will fall in the following 8 hours.
