A shortage in Iodine supply significantly impacts foetal development. A deficiency at this critical time can lead to poor bone growth, delayed central nervous system development, abortions and produce small, weak animals that are unable to suckle.
If you have concerns about maintaining an acceptable in-calf ratio then consider dosing IntenSE Iodine prior to mating.
